Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 15, 2026
1 Introduction
BnB Studio ("we") built Kanji Masuta as a Japanese Kanji learning app. This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you use the App, how it is used, and your rights. You do not need to create an account or provide your name, email, or any personally identifying information to use the App.
2 Data Stored Locally on Your Device
All of your learning data is stored only on your device in a local SQLite database: kanji and vocabulary progress, FSRS review schedules, quiz history, streaks, and app preferences. This data never leaves your device, is never transmitted to our servers, and is not accessible by us. Uninstalling the App permanently deletes this data.
3 Data Collected Automatically
The App integrates services that automatically collect limited, non-identifying data:
• Google Firebase Analytics — screen views, session events, device model, OS version, app version, coarse region from IP.
• Google Firebase Crashlytics — crash stack traces, device and OS version at time of crash.
• Google Firebase Remote Config — Firebase installation ID, app version, locale, for feature flags.
• Google AdMob (free version only) — advertising ID (unless opted out), approximate location from IP, ad interactions.
• RevenueCat — anonymous subscriber ID, subscription status, platform and country. We never receive your name, email, or payment details.
4 Third-Party Services
We rely on the following providers, each governed by their own privacy policies:
• Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config — https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
• Google AdMob — https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads
• RevenueCat — https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy
• Apple App Store — https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy
• Google Play Store — https://policies.google.com/privacy
We do not sell your personal information.
5 Advertising and Opting Out
The free version displays ads provided by Google AdMob. Ads may be personalized using your advertising identifier.
iOS — Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking (turn off "Allow Apps to Request to Track").
Android — Settings → Privacy → Ads ("Delete advertising ID" or "Opt out of Ads Personalization").
Upgrading to a premium subscription removes all in-app advertising and the associated data collection.
6 Data Retention, Security and Your Rights
Data transmitted to third-party services is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Firebase Analytics retains data up to 14 months, Crashlytics up to 90 days. Subscription data is retained by RevenueCat, Apple, and Google as required by law. Depending on your location (GDPR/EEA, UK, CCPA/California, Vietnam Decree 13/2023), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your data, and to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, email us at bnbstudio.soft@gmail.com.
7 Children's Privacy and International Transfers
Kanji Masuta is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Our service providers (Google, RevenueCat) may process data in the United States or other countries; they implement appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for international transfers. By using the App, you consent to this processing.
8 Changes and Contact
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted within the App and take effect 30 days after posting unless a shorter period is required by law. For questions, concerns, or to exercise your rights, contact us at bnbstudio.soft@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days as required by applicable law.
